THE GREENSPAN ERA: LESSONS FOR THE FUTURE During Alan Greenspan’s years as chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the global economy experienced significant structural change and withstood a variety of financial and economic shocks. In addition to helping steer the global economy through such challenges, Chairman Greenspan was at the center of discussions about monetary policy ideas and issues. The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City sponsored an economic symposium to explore several of these ideas and issues that will continue challenging central banks for years to come. A summary of the symposium, written by George Kahn, vice president and associate director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, is featured in the fourth quarter edition of the Economic Review. The article and proceedings from the symposium are available on the Bank’s Web site at www.kansascityfed.org. ### Return to
