The Road Ahead: Economic Paths for My Future
The road ahead for high school students is filled with choices that will affect their future. What economic and financial choices do you plan to make that will shape your future path?

This essay contest is for you, a 9th- through 12th-grade student who resides in the Tenth Federal Reserve District. It's a chance for you to win savings bonds ranging from $1,000 to $100 for sharing your thoughts on the economic paths for your future.

This essay contest is for you, a 9th- through 12th grade teacher who is searching for ways to integrate writing across the curriculum while developing research and critical thinking skills. You can have your entire class complete essays as an assignment and compete for awards, or use this as an optional individual assignment.

This site contains everything you need to know to participate in the essay contest - from the rules to examples of winning essays to a primer on economic concepts.

Essays are due by electronic submission on this Web site by April 11, 2008.

 

                   
Awards
First-, second-, and third-place winners will be selected at each office in the Tenth District (Kansas City, Denver, Oklahoma City, and Omaha). One essay will receive the grand prize from all of the first-place entries in the Tenth District. Each winning author will receive a certificate of recognition. The prizes by placement are:
Grand Prize District Winner - $500 EE Savings Bond (in addition to local award)
First Place - $500 EE Savings Bond
Second Place - $200 EE Savings Bond
Third Place - $100 EE Savings Bond
Winning essays will be featured on this Web site, and winners will be mentioned in Bank publications.
